![]() "FL means a whole lot, if I were restricted to one item of music software on my PC, it would certainly be FL. Going through the process of learning this program will allow you to find unique/individual quirks and create your own sound (like what those famous producers did) and as a bonus will get you ready for when new features/updates come in. That's crazy to think about considering how good it already is. Really learning it thoroughly has an insane amount of rewards and the crazy part is you know it's a program that's only going to get better. Seriously though, there are so many quirks about FL Studio and it has imo the best software team in the industry. What the famous producers I mentioned earlier have done is actually stick and commit to FL.īut hey, if somebody wants to listen to opinions about daws from other people who never had a single placement, that's their business. Anybody who says FL is "just a toy" or not a "real" daw well, they need to recognize people out there are making some "real" money and having "real" success with it. The last few years has practically been the same story - FL dominating the charts. Seriously, what other DAW has ever occupied the top 15 songs at one time and had the top 18 out of 20 songs, ever? Right now I believe there are only four songs that weren't done in FL in the top 30. are all FL Studio producers and have cleaned house on those charts presently and over the last few years. Tay Keith, Metro Boomin, Wondagurl, Boi-1da, MikeWill, ChopsquadDJ, OZ, Cardo, 808 Mafia (Southside, TM88, Pvlace, Tarentino), Pierre Bourne, NAV, jetsonmade (DaBaby's producer), Vinylz, Murda Beatz, Mustard, etc. Old Town Road - made on FL Studio by YoungKio after only starting to make music in 2016. Louis Bell (Post Malone's producer) and Nick Mira use FL and had the first top 15 charted songs at one point. Wheezy and LilJuMadeDaBeat (Megan Thee Stallion's producer) - owned the summer/right now with FL. I'm talking lopsided.įor instance, only talking about this year: if you check the charts right now 8/10 of the United States top 10 songs are by FL Studio producers. ![]() But if you learn to get around these things, there are few libraries that will do the completely over the top brass you need for trailers. If you check the charts for the last couple years, FL Studio has absolutely dominated the top 10. I find most patches have a congested mid-range rather than excessive brightness. You may think the 6horns are bright but once you get it in the mix you sort of need it. Metropolis Ark 2 takes a different path, focusing on intense, darker textures from the lower dynamics. 10x better when you load up the tree and wide and pan properly. Metropolis Ark 1 concentrates on strength, greatness, and bold exceptionalism brought to you by four distinct ensembles of epic instruments. ![]() Also, the default mixes are the worst brass mixes on the market. Make sure your velocities are all the way to 127 if you want the epic sound on marc and soaring patches. Very Dumb - you can add filters to fake it though. The thing I hate is many articulations have no mod-wheel dynamic control. The programming in general is very poor, so you have to work around it. Some of the loudest brass on the market, although the xfades are a bit rough. Century has some very loud recordings (very few libs get this loud dynamically). You need to be layering articulations if you want to achieve that.
